You Win Some, You Lose Some.

I play on a softball inter-mural team at the University of Kentucky, and this season we made it into the final four! We had a game tonight at 8:00pm and everyone played their best, but our best just wasn't good enough. The final score was 5-7. Even though we didn't win tonight we still had fun and we're thankful that we made it this far. But next year the other teams better watch out... we'll be ready, and we won't play easy!

Everyone, All the Time

Check out this band on Facebook! I went to their first concert last night and it was awesome! My best friend is the lead singer, I was really impressed.

Lazy Saturday...

When I listen to the song “The Lazy Song” by Bruno Mars, I think of this past Sunday. I didn’t feel like doing anything… I was tired from a hard week of homework and studying, and minimum sleep. My day literally consisted of watching ‘That 70’s Show’ (which is a hilarious show) for hours, taking a nap, and hanging out with my friends from my dorm. I was so lazy, but it was a much needed relaxing day!

Don't Stop Reading Mom!

My mom use to read to me and my siblings in the morning when we were younger. She would read us all sorts of books and sometimes we would read for hours at a time! One of my favorite books she read us was ‘The Lion,The Witch and The Wardrobe’ written by C.S. Lewis. My siblings and I wouldn’t want my mom to stop reading, and when the book was finished we wished there was more (which of course there is more in the next book to the series). Whenever I hear the song “A Narnia Lullaby” by Harry Gregson-Williams, I think of all the hours we spent listening to my mom reading this book to me, and it makes me miss her so much!

Road Trip!

One summer my entire family mom, dad, and 5 kids all packed up in our 15 passenger van (yeah, you read that right!) and began our 2 week road trip out West! As we drove out of our driveway my dad played “On the Road Again” by Willie Nelson. We all laughed and said it was the perfect song to being our travels, and from then on every time we began our drive for the day we listened to this song. Every time this song comes on I remember our road trip and smile. It was one of the most fun vacations my family has ever been on, although this year may compete… my entire family (which has grown to mom, dad, 7 kids, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, sisters baby, and sister-in-law’s baby to be) is going to take a 2 week train trip out West! Our trip is going to be amazing! And I bet we’ll be listening to this song again…

Always Dreaming

I was always dreaming of my future when I was younger, and couldn’t wait for it to come. I was dying to get out of the house and be on my own and in college. I thought I was ready to be independent, but now that I’m in my future that I couldn’t seem to wait for, I miss being at home, I miss being able to talk to my mom every night, I miss hanging out with my friends from home. I miss my little sister barging into my room just to bug me; I even miss (this might sound crazy) arguing with my brothers. When I hear the song “You’re Gonna Miss This” by Trace Adkins it reminds me of how I couldn’t just enjoy where I was in life, but was always looking to what my life ahead would be. I miss those days; I wish I could relive them and this time live in the moment and not in thoughts of the future.
